Welcome to Mesa Verde - in a manner of thinking, the main target of our trip. This picture is a classic view of one of the famous cliff dwelling settlements. Getting this far was quite an adventure on its own, involving a twisting turning 21 mile / 45 minute drive up and around the mesa after entering the park grounds. The driving here was especially interesting since in the rush to get out of the hotel and to the park (they don’t accept reservations for the tours) I’d forgotten to put my contacts in. Thank goodness for auto-focus cameras I guess.
